Getting started
Each Leap to Know app keeps a child actively engaged for around 15 to 25 hours of learning.
Each journey is organised into five trees, each made up of ten leaves — fifty activities in all. Encourage learners to work through them at their own pace until they have completed every leaf.

Keep sessions short. We recommend no more than 35 minutes at a time, with a short break after about 20 minutes to rest young eyes. A timer or hourglass can help.
Spend time ensuring that the learner is comfortable, knowing how to hold and care for the tablet, how to adjust the volume and how to use the headphones. Each app starts with a short video demonstrating finger movements and how to store completed work by moving it into a bag.
Getting the best results
Encourage good posture — sitting upright at a table rather than slouching — and make sure the tablet or phone is held or propped so the child isn’t straining to see the screen.

Headphones help children concentrate and hear instructions clearly.

Help children get into good habits as they play. The app gently guides them to:
- listen first before responding
- tap anything that wobbles to hear what it means
- start at the top and work downwards
- progress to the next screen when the forward button becomes active.
Above all, keep it positive. Children stay motivated when their effort is noticed and celebrated, so offer plenty of encouragement along the way.
One tablet, many learners
The Leap to Know apps are ideal for classrooms and families alike. A single tablet can accommodate many profiles so that a whole class can rotate through a small set of tablets. The app remembers exactly where a learner left off, so several learners can learn on the same device without losing their progress.
